Bonny Glambeck (Clayoquot Action), Karen Wristen (Living Oceans Society), and Bob Chamberlin (former VP of Union of BC Indian Chiefs) visited from the West Coast to speak about the dangers of open net-pen finfish aquaculture and the move away to more sustainable practices.
From a facebook live feed filmed by Amy Tudor on Feb. 7th, 2020, at an “Information session” by Cermaq Canada in Sandy Cove. At previous “Info Sessions” presented by Cermaq in Digby and Clare, information stations were set up, a presentation was given, and a question and answer period was held. The schedule for the Sandy Cove seeion was drastically different – with just two Cermaq Canada employees sitting behind a table, each with pen and paper to record “concerns and questions” from the public. The St. Mary’s Bay Protectors took it upon themselves to hear public questions and concerns.
